Slaine White Rapper

Years Active: 2003-present
Label: Leedz Edutainment, Commonwealth Records, Duck Down Records
Best Known Song: “Rich Man, Poor Man”

“The Beantown-based MC is a member of both La Coka Nostra and Special Teamz, and his ’06 single “Rich Man, Poor Man” combines an almost parodic level of braggadocio (“That’s why I’m about to cake off as big as Jay-Z, sonny”) and a rags-to-riches hook (“Listen close to every word I utter/You can almost hear me rising right out of the gutter”) to make something that’s vaguely entertaining, if pretty much devoid of artistic merit. Also made a cameo in the Ben Affleck-directed Southie flick Gone Baby Gone.” ~ Complex Media on Slaine
